A 68-year-old widower was killed after being hit and dragged by a tractor head Tuesday night in
Navotas City.

Lito Lauros, a retired security guard and resident of 90 San Marcos St., Bgy. Navotas West,
died on the spot from severe head and body injuries after being dragged by the tractor head several
meters away.

Navotas traffic investigator SPO2 Guiama Ibrahim said the victim was walking in the middle
of R-10 Road, Bgy. North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS) at 11 p.m. when he was hit by the tractor head
(UVC-163) driven by John John Abrasaldo, 35, of 64 Adalip St., Bgy. Longos.
“Hindi ko po napansin na may tao na po du’n eh. Wala po siya talaga sa sarili habang nasa
gitna ng madilim na kalsada,” Abrasaldo said after he surrendered to the police.
Witnesses told traffic investigators that the victim seemed to be intoxicated while walking
along the road. “Iniiwasan na nga siya ng ibang sasakyan pero hindi na siya nagawang iwasan nu’ng
tractor head,” Steve Gilbuena, one of the witnesses, told traffic investigators.
The victim’s brother-in-law, Fidelo Almasa, said that they repeatedly advice the victim to
move to their province and live with his children but he opted to remain in the city.
