Tension grips hotel guests over ‘wow mali’ fire

TENSION gripped guests and employees of a casino hotel in Parañaque City after thick white smoke was detected from one of its floors yesterday.

Parañnaque City fire marshal Supt. Renato Cruz said fire trucks were dispatched to Okada Manila casino hotel, located along Macapagal Avenue, Parañaque City.
Cruz said they first received an emergency call of fire alarm at 10:55 a.m. reportedly inside Okada Manila after smoke was reportedly detected in one of the floors of the building of said casino-hotel.
Panick struck guests and employees who were immediately asked to evacuate the building as firemen tried to search for the fire.
After more than an hour, operations at the said hotel were back to normal after authorities declared that the smoke came from a nearby construction site.
