Some 100 men were rounded up by the Manila Police District-Station 1 during a ‘saturation drive’ or
simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement operations (SACLEO) conducted in Tondo, Manila,
the other day.
A subsequent verification made by the said police station on the said men showed that 14 of
them were allegedly involved in illegal drug activities, three were found in possession of
improvised guns while two were caught in the act of gambling. Those without derogatory records were
allowed to go home.
Supt. Jay Dimaandal, station commander, said the drive was conducted at around 8 p.m.
Appropriate charges were filed against those who were found to be in violation of the law.
