Rizal bgy chief gunned down

A barangay chairman was shot dead by motorcycle-riding criminals  in front of the barangay hall in Teresa, Rizal, yesterday morning.

Reports from Teresa Municipal Police Station said the victim, Arvin Zapanta, 44, chairman of Bgy. San Gabriel, died from multiple gunshot wounds in the body.
Police are now hunting down the suspects described as both wearing helmets and bull cap, who immediately fled the crime scene.
Initial investigation showed that the incident took place along the alley in front of San Gabriel Barangay Hall near a day-care center at around 6:55 p.m.
Police said the victim was standing in front of the barangay hall when two men riding a motorcycle arrived in the area, stopped in front of the victim and shot him repeatedly.
Police said they are eyeing work-related as one of the motives behind the killing.
