TWO alleged riding-in-tandem holduppers were killed after they reportedly shot it out with policemen from the Manila Police District (MPD) early yesterday morning on Altura Street, Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, Sampaloc, Manila.
Supt. Andrew Aguirre, Manila Police District-Station 4 commander, said one of the two suspects died instantly while the other died in the hospital where he was brought.
It was learned that at around 1 a.m., a woman sought help after being held up by the suspects. Patrolling policemen from the MPD-Station 4 responded and after getting the suspects’ description, went looking for them.
Upon seeing the suspects who fit the description, the cop tried to accost them but instead of stopping, the duo were said to have fired at the police, hitting their mobile patrol vehicle’s bumper. The cops fired back, hitting the suspects.
Police recovered at the scene several sachets of shabu and a cal. .38, believed to have been used by the suspects in the holdup. The bag of the victim, whom police said refused to be identified, was said to have been recovered.
