THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has arrested a total of 114 suspects for various crimes during the observance of the Holy Week from April 10 to 16, 2017.
QCPD director Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said 65 of the suspects were arrested for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. They included the 11 drug suspects arrested by the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) under Chief Insp. Ferdinand M Mendoza, on ‘Holy Tuesday,’ April 11, in Bgy. Pansol, QC, which included a midlevel female employee of the Quezon City Hall, who yielded half a million pesos worth of shabu, in the recent drug busts arising from information elicited from previous ones.
He said the arrest of the 65 drug suspects by the DDEU and their counterparts from the 12 police stations, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Quezon City District Office, is in conjunction with the implementation of Oplan Project Double Barrel Reloaded.
Aside from those arrested for illegal drugs, police nabbed 10 suspects for robbery and theft, nine for various offenses, two for violation of RA 10591 or illegal possession of firearms, four for violation of RA 8353 or the Anti-Rape Law, five for stabbing incidents, three for estafa, one for homicide, two for frustrated murder, one for violation of RA 9262 or Violence against Women and Children, three for unjust vexation, two for violation of RA 10054 and RA 4136, three for alarm and scandal; and four for violation of city ordinances.
