Pusher, cohort collared

A suspected pusher, said to be a notorious robber, and another drug personality were collared by San Juan police in a series of buy-bust operations  in Bgy. Salapan on Friday.

A report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Bernabe Balba by San Juan police chief Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes identified the suspects as  Jonathan Lopez, 40, welder, of 10 Diwa Street, and Richard Pagdanganan, 40, taxi driver, of 21 Melanio De Street, both in Bgy. Salapan.

Reyes said the arrest came after weeks of surveillance amid information about the continuous drug peddling activities of two suspects in their barangay.

Undercover men of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by SPO1 Gerard Crisostomo disclosed that Lopez was first arrested after being caught selling plastic sachet of illegal drugs on Diwa Street at 11:45 p.m. Thursday. Another sachet of drug was recovered from him.

Reyes said that aside from being a known pusher in the area, Lopez is also responsible for robbery and snatching incidents in his barangay.

At 1:30 a.m. yesterday, Pagdanganan was nabbed in another buy-bust operation  on  J. Ruiz St. cor. Aurora Boulevard for selling a sachet of illegal drugs for P500 to a cop posing as buyer. The suspect yielded two more plastic sachets of suspected shabu.

The suspect reportedly supplies drugs to taxi drivers.

Acccording to Reyes, the two suspects were included on the drug watchlist. Lopez is a former surrenderer under “OplanTokhang”.

The suspects were detained at San Juan detention cell, facing charges of violation of  Secs.  5 and 11, Art. 2, RA 9165.
