THE body of a 29-year-old Filipina caretaker who died in last week’s earthquake in Taiwan arrived
yesterday in Manila.

Officials of Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) escorted the remains of Melody
Albano Castro, which arrived in Manila at 10:10 a.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

MECO representative Ricky Beltran said the sealed wooden cargo box will be flown today to
Tuguegarao City.

The body of Castro was retrieved by the authorities in the rubble of a building in Hualien a
day after a magnitude 6.4 quake hit Taiwan. Other Filipinos in Taiwan have been accounted for, said
the MECO.
