PASIG policemen nabbed one of the brothers who shot and killed their neighbor at the height of an argument while having a drinking session following an operation the other day.

A report submitted to Pasig police chief Senior Supt. Rizalito Gapas identified the arrested suspect as Johnry Martin, 23, of Bgy. Palatiw, Pasig City. His older brother Tyron Gerald, was still being hunted by authorities.

Gapas said the suspect was nabbed by an Intelligence Unit team headed by Chief Insp. Malvin Medrano by virtue of warrant for murder issued by Presiding Judge Maria Gracia A. Caduz-Casaclang of Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 155, docketed under Criminal Case No. R-PSG-17-02865-CR.

Records showed that Johnry Martin, with victim Ronald Isla, 37, elevator installer, and other neighbors were having a drinking session at  Martin Compound, M.H. Del Pilar, Bgy. Palatiw on Oct. 29, 2017.

After getting intoxicated, the duo engaged in a heated argument for unknown reason, but was pacified by other drinking buddies after which the suspect decided to go home.

Police said Johnry told his older brother Tyron about the incident. The Martin brothers returned to the area and confronted the victim.

Witnesses said the older Martin was armed with a gun and when they saw the victim still at the drinking session, they repeatedly shot him.

The brothers immediately escaped while the victim was rushed to Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH) but died while undergoing treatment due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Medrano said the Martin brothers went into hiding.

However, police received information that the younger Martin went home recently.

Medrano conducted an operation that resulted in the suspect’s arrest. His older brother is still the object of operation.
