October 09, 2018

HIGH-grade marijuana worth about P1 million was seized from two suspected drug pushers following an operation by members of Manila Police District (MPD) in Pasig City Monday night.

Reports reaching Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Bernabe Balba identified the suspects as Carlitos Johanne Arpilleda, alias “CJ”, 23, of Bgy. Poblacion, Makati; and Jayson Peralta, 24, of Bgy. Caniogan, Pasig.

The two were nabbed in buy-bust operation conducted by MPD-Drug Enforcement Unit at the house of Arpilleda at 5 Col. P. Licsi St., Bgy. Caniogan, at 9 p.m.

The operation was conducted in Pasig City after MPD nabbed a drug pusher last Saturday and pinpointed Arpilleda as the source of illegal drugs allegedly shipped from the United States.

An undercover agent transacted with Arpilleda to purchase P3,000 worth of high-grade marijuana “Kush”. When Arpilleda handed the illegal drugs, he was arrested by other operatives.

Peralta, who was with Arpilleda during the transaction, was also nabbed. He is believed to be a customer of the latter.

Police searched the house of Arpilleda and found half a kilo of suspected high-grade marijuana placed inside the boxes of cookies.

Police said the seized Kush were of different flavors -- cookies, mango and candy. Each pack is worth P1,500.

The suspects will be charged for violation of RA 9165.
