BIG and small oil firms will roll back small amount of diesel prices effective today but will raise those of gasoline but no price movement on kerosene.

Petron Corporation, Pilipinas Shell and Chevron Philippines, the country’s top oil players, announced that they will cut diesel prices by 15 centavos per liter but gasoline prices are up by 30 centavos per liter, effective at 6 a.m. today.

Independent oil firms Seaoil, Eastern Petroleum, PTT Philippines, Total Philippines and Unioil Philippines also announced similar price adjustments at 6 a.m. today while others have yet to make an announcement but are expected to implement the same price adjustments.

According to industry sources, the peso’s weakness against the US dollar and the continued increase in the international market pushed local pump prices of gasoline higher.
