A 24-year-old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who figured in a verbal tussle with a group of men inside
a videoke bar was mauled and stabbed before dawn yesterday in Malabon City.

Aldrin Zulueta, of Dulong Herrera St., Bgy. Ibaba, was rushed to Tondo Medical Center for
treatment of a stab wound in the back while two of the suspects -- Edmar Cruz, 26, and Mark Kerwin
Tibulan, 25, both of 77 Celia 2, Bgy. Bayan-Bayanan -- were arrested by elements of Malabon Police
Community Precinct (PCP) 7.
Investigation conducted by SPO1 Rolando Hernando and PO2 Jose Romeo Germinal II showed that
the victim, together with his friends John Edward Lachica and Harold Joy Velasco were about to leave
Over Stay KTV bar on Gen. Luna Avenue, Bgy. San Agustin at around 1 a.m. after consuming several
bottles of beer when they were confronted by a group of customers of the bar.
A heated argument ensued between Zulueta and the suspects. Cruz pulled out a bladed weapon and
stabbed the former in the back while Tibulan hit him with a bottle in the head.
Though wounded, the victim was able to run outside the bar but the suspects chased him when
mobile car passed by, resulting in the suspects’ arrest.
