Notorious pusher killed in shootout

A notorious drug pusher was killed in a shootout with elements of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) during a buy-bust operation Tuesday afternoon in Valenzuela City.

Gerby Tenio, alias “Bigote”, of Area 1, Makisig St., Pinalagad, Malinta, succumbed to bullet wounds in the body while being rushed to Valenzuela Medical Center while his 16-year-old client was rescued by police after the incident.

Valenzuela SDEU head Chief Insp. Jowilouie Bilario said his men were about to arrest Tenio in front of his house at around 3:40 p.m. after he handed a pack of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P300 marked money when he pulled out a handgun and fired at the arresting officers but missed.

Team leader SPO1 Roberto Santillan and his men retaliated and hit the suspect in the body while the 16-year-old boy, who was also buying a sachet of shabu, was rescued and turned over to the City Social Welfare Department (CSWD).

Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) led by Chief Insp. Sandra Go found the caliber .38 revolver of the slain suspect at the crime scene while a transparent plastic sachet of shabu was recovered from the rescued minor.

Valenzuela police chief Senior Supt. David Nicolas Poklay said that during drug inventory conducted at the morgue of the hospital, at total of 13 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing undetermined quantity of shabu, P300 marked money and several drug paraphernalia were recovered from slain suspect.
