Notorious lady pusher falls

A notorious female drug pusher who has been the subject of previous buy-bust attempts, finally fell into the hands of San Juan police following an operation in the city Wednesday night.

Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes, San Juan Police chief, identified the suspect as Fatima Diwan, alias Madam, 33, married, of 20-W Road 11, 1st West Crame, Bgy. West Crame, San Juan City.

Reyes said Diwan was nabbed during a buy-bust operation conducted by a Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) team headed by Senior Insp. Edwin Malabanan along 1st West Crame, Bgy. West Crame at around 7:30 p.m.

The suspect is said to be a known drug peddler and listed on the city police’s drug watchplist but failed to surrender under “Oplan Tokhang”.

Reports also said that the suspect was operating illegal drugs trade since 2010 and was the prime target of San Juan police for quite some time now.

Reyes said the arrest was the fruit a week of surveillance by SDEU men, who got information that the woman was set to deliver drugs to her buyer.

An undercover agent, who acted as poseur-buyer, was able to buy shabu from the suspect. When she handed the illegal drugs she was nabbed by other cops.

Police said Diwan formerly operates a carinderia and also sells pirated DVDs in front of her house but she closed her business three months ago.

A 10-minute video of drug transactions by Diwan at 1st West Crame last year detailing her modus operandi of asking customers about their order which include a sachet of shabu concealed inside.  

Reyes added that the police will continue their intensified operation against illegal drugs in the city.  

The suspect was charged with violation of Secs. 5 and 11 of RA  9165.
