THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has been directed to investigate if there was sabotage that
disrupted the operations of the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT 3) recently.

Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said he has issued a Department Order (DO) to the NBI
to conduct the investigation after a link of the coaches got detached last November 16 near the
Buendia Station which forced passengers to walk.

“Tuloy ’yung angle ng sabotage for the NBI, kasi mukhang meron basehan kasi sinasabi doon na
mahirap mangyari ’yung makakalas ’yung dalawang coach,” he said.

“Makikita naman natin na kahit na-derail ang tren, kahit tumumba na ’yan, magkakabit pa rin,”
Agui-rre pointed out.

“Kaya kung talagang walang human intervention, it’s really very hard mangyari ’yun,” he added.

MRT 3 technicians who checked the detached coaches have already ruled out any electrical or
mechanical problems.
