MMDA hunts down reckless-driving woman

October 24, 2018

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is now hunting down a woman who drove away to evade a traffic violation ticket in San Juan City.

The incident, which happened last October 19 in North Greenhills in San Juan City, was posted by Traffic Constable 3 Sandy Bilan on his Facebook account and went viral with over a million views.

MMDA spokesperson Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago said the woman, if identified, will be facing multiple charges of direct assault, reckless driving, arrogant driving, illegal parking, obstruction and disobedience to a person in authority.

Pialago said they already reported the incident to the office of Land Transportation Office (LTO) and found out that the Toyota Camry (UFQ-833) the woman was driving was registered under Garment District Incorporated in Sandoval, Pasig City.

She added that they also recommended the cancellation or suspension of the woman’s driver’s license if she has any.

Bilan said he tried to apprehend the driver of the vehicle which was parked illegally along North East Greenhills but instead, the woman just rolled down her car window and said she will just leave, before slowly accelerating her car.

Bilan’s colleague tried to block the car by standing in front of the vehicle but the woman continued to drive slowly and bumped the officers until she was able to drive away.
