Man killed by QC cops for firing gun in QC indiscriminately

Responding policemen killed a man who reporteldy indiscriminately fired a gun in his neighborhood in Bgy. Batasan Hills on Thursday night.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. identified the slain suspect as Gregorio Bogtong, 33, of 38 Pangasinan St., Bgy. Batasan Hills.

A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the QCPD said that at about 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 13, 2018, neighbors of Bogtong sought assistance from the QCPD PS 6 after the suspect indiscriminately fired his gun on Pangasinan St., Bgy. Batasan Hills.

A neighbor of the suspect, identified as Jonathan Roldan, was supposed to calm down the suspect but he was threatened by Bogtong and pointed his gun at him. Bogtong escaped before getting arrested.

Around 8:55 p.m., PS 6 received another report from Roldan that the suspect indiscriminately fired his gun on Liwanag St., Bgy. Old Balara, Quezon City.

The operatives rushed to the area, ordered Bogtong to peacefully surrender but he instead fired shots at the offciers in an attempt to escape. A brief shootout resulted in the death of Bogtong.

Police recovered from Bogtong a Colt Combat Commander cal. .45 pistol with serial no. 4250955, chamber loaded with a live ammunition, two empty magazine, six deformed fired bullets and nine sachets of shabu.

Another two fired bullets for cal. .45 and a dismantled cal. .38 revolver (SN 889271) loaded with one a live ammunition were recovered at the first crime scene.
