AUTHORITIES  are now trying to identify the driver of a  truck involved in a hit-an-run incident where
a septuagenarian man died on C-3 Road corner 5th Avenue before dawn Tuesday in Caloocan City.

Ricardo Gingco, 76, of M.H. Del Pilar St., Caloocan City, died on the spot. He was run over by
a speeding truck traversing along C-3 Road coming from A. Mabini and heading towards the direction of
Quezon City at around 3 a.m.

A witness, Ernie John Reyes, 45, of 428 3rd Avenue, Grace Park, told traffic investigators PO1
Magno Cagurangan and PO1 Hilbert Tumabcao that the victim was crossing along 5th Avenue when he was
hit by the  speeding trailer truck.

“Madilim pa kasi sa lugar kaya hindi ko na napuna kung ano ang plaka nu’ng truck.  Nakita ko
na lang na halos magkadurog-durog ang katawan ng matanda habang mabilis na pinatakbo ng driver ang
sasakyan sa halip na huminto,” Reyes told police.

Investigators are now trying to determine if the incident was captured by a close circuit
television (CCTV) camera installed in the area.
