Police arrested a sexagenarian shortly after he allegedly sodomized a 15-year-old neighbor yesterday morning in San Juan City.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Bernabe M. Balba identified the suspect as Enrique Sapra Lacanlale, alias Abe, 61, street sweeper, of 49 Atty. Mendoza St., Bgy. Pedro Cruz, San Juan City.
San Juan City police chief Supt. Dindo Regis Reyes said the suspect was arrested at aroubd 6 a.m. inside the victim’s house.
Reyes said Lacanlale was nabbed by members of Police Community Precinct (PVP) 5 based on the complaint filed by the parents of the victim.
Accordingly, the suspect was caught in the act of sexually abusing the victim by the latter’s parents.
Reports from San Juan Police Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) said the boy has been sexually abused twice by the suspect in their house.
The first incident happened on September 15 at around 5 a.m. after the suspect secretly entered the house while the boy’s parents were still sleeping.
The latest incident happened on Wednesday inside his son’s room.
The victim’s father said he went to the room to wake up his son for school, but he was shocked when he saw the naked suspect on top of his son who was lying on bed.
He immediately called assistance from PCP-5 and the barangay.
When the suspect was brought to the San Juan Police Station, he neither admitted nor denied the charges.
Reyes said the suspect faces charges of acts of lasciviousness and violation of RA 8353 (Anti-Rape Law) in relation to RA 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
