A sexagenarian man was seriously wounded after he was stabbed by his son following their heated altercation Sunday night in Malabon City.

Theodoro Palonpon, 65, of 151 Sapa St., Bgy. Pang-hulo, was rushed to Tondo General Hospital where he underwent surgical operation for a stab wound in the abdomen while his 41-year-old son, Elmer, was arrested by elements of Malabon Police Community Precinct (PCP) 1.

Malabon police homicide investigators PO3 Julius Mabasa and PO3 Alcee Jumaquio said Elmer Palonpon was sleeping on their sofa bed at around 6:45 p.m. when his father arrived and tried to wake him up.

“Naalimpungatan ang suspek kaya nasigawan niya ang ama hanggang magkaroon sila ng mainitang pagtatalo,” PO3 Jumaquio said.

At the height of their heated altercation, Theodoro grabbed a pair of scissors and tried to stab his son but the latter was able to snatch the cutting instrument and stabbed his father.

Suspect’s younger sister Elvie Palonpon sought the assistance of policemen from PCP-1 and arrested Elmer.
