A 21-year-old helper is now detained at the Manila Police District-Children and Women  Protection
Unit after allegedly eloping with the 15-year-old daughter of his employer in Port Area, Manila.

Jommel Marinduque, of Pier 17, Gate 3, Port Area, Manila, was nabbed on the complaint of the
girl’s mother who filed a case for violation of the Anti-Child Abuse Law against the said helper.
A probe by PO3 Marlyn Remetio showed that the suspect and the girl, a Grade 9 student residing
at the Baseco Compound in Port Area, eloped last October 13.
The girl’s family reportedly began looking for her until they saw her with the helper walking
while holding hands.
Owing to her being a minor, the girl was taken back by her mother and based on her complaint,
the helper was nabbed and brought to the MPD headquarters on United Nations Avenue in Ermita.
