Fisher injured as gang rivals fight

A FISHERMAN who chanced upon a gang war between two street groups was injured when he was hit by a stray bullet Friday evening in Navotas City.

Carlito Carillo, 34, of Block 28 Area 1, Phase 3 North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS) was walking on his way home when he was caught in the middle of two street gangs engaging in a riot along Block 23 Area 1, Phase 2 at around 7:30 p.m.

The victim was about to take another route to avoid trouble when one of the suspects pulled out an unknown type of firearm and indiscriminately fired his gun hitting Carillo in the right ankle.

The suspect and his group escaped after the incident while Carillo was rushed by his relatives to Navotas City Hospital where he underwent medical treatment.

Elements of Navotas Police immediately conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to identify and arrest the suspect.
