Ex-drug surrenderer collared in Pasig raid

Police arrested a drug surrenderer who yielded shabu during a raid on his house in Pasig City
yesterday afternoon.

In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Reynaldo Biay
by Senior Supt. Orlando Yebra Jr, Pasig police chief, the suspect was identified as Antonio
Coronel, alias Tony, 58, of 97 Dodge City St., Bgy. Sagad, Pasig City.
Yebra said the raid was conducted based on reports that Coronel was engaged in
proliferation of illegal drugs in the area.
Prior to the operation, police placed the suspect under surveillance before conducting the
A team from the Anti-Drug Abuse Council of Pasig City (ADCOP) and Station Drug Enforcement
Unit (SDEU) headed by Senior Insp. Alvin Perlas raided the house of Coronel at around 12:30 p.m.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 152 Executive
Judge Danilo Cruz, police swooped down on the house of the suspect.
Authorities seized 69 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets or 18 grams of undetermined
quantity of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu.
According to Perlas, the house of Coronel was used to sell illegal drugs to his customers.
Coronel was also a drug surrenderer in 2016 but continued his illegal drug activities.
The suspect was detained, facing charges of violation of Sec. 11 of RA 9165.
