A retired policeman was arrested by the police for allegedly poking a gun on two traffic constables of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday night in Quezon City.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar identified the suspect as Robertson Cruz Estrella, 63, retired police officer 1, of 53 Siling Bata, Pandi, Bulacan.

Reports from the Batasan Police Station (PS-6) showed that at 6:25 p.m. on April 16, 2018, the suspect was among the passengers of a UV Express driven by Melchor Tanalgo when upon reaching Commonwealth Ave., Bgy. Batasan Hills in front of the Commission on Audit Bldg., the vehicle was flagged down by Traffic Constables Christopher Bangalisan and Wilson Balceta for traffic violation.

Irked by the incident, Estrella interfered and argued with the traffic constables and drew a firearm and pointed it at them.
The traffic constables sought the assistance of PS-6 personnel who quickly responded and arrested the suspect.
Seized from Estrella was an Armscor caliber .45 pistol with serial no. 103627 with 13 live ammunition. Estrella failed to show exemption papers for the existing Comelec gun ban.
A case of grave threat and violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law) in relation to Omnibus Election Code, will be filed against Estrella.
