Drug personality shot dead

A suspected drug personality was shot dead by motorcycle-riding criminals moments after he hailed a taxi while the cab driver was injured after he was hit by a stray bullet shortly after midnight yesterday in Taguig City.

The unidentified victim, described as about 30 to 35 years old, died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds in the body while cab driver Alberto Tubo, 39, of Mabuhay, Binangonan, Rizal, was rushed to Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for treatment of a bullet wound in the body.

A report received by Taguig police chief Senior Supt. Alexander Santos said Tubo was driving a Max Carlo Trans taxi (ABG-4652) at 12:20 a.m. along the service road of South Luzon Expressway when the victim hailed him in front of PAE A. Bonifacio, Purok 1, Bgy. Central Bicutan.

While the victim was about to occupy the front passenger seat, two men on a motorcycle without license plate appeared and shot him repeatedly, killing him.
