A 40-year-old tricycle driver was stabbed dead by a colleague who lost a passenger to the former in Tondo, Manila, the other day.

Gilberto Canoza, of 2108 Molave St., Tondo, died on the spot due to a stab wound in the body while suspect Edmund Sablaon, 36, of 1027 E. Tayabas St., also in Tondo, was arrested.

A probe by the Manila Police District-Station 7 said that the incident took place at around 4:45 a.m. at a tricycle terminal on Molave Street.

A passenger arrived and flagged down Canoza’s tricycle. The suspect got upset since he was first in line and confronted the victim.

An argument ensued which led to fisticuffs, until the suspect stabbed Canoza.
The victim was rushed by bystanders to the nearest hospital while the suspect was nabbed and brought to the police precinct.
