Cops in Espinosa cell raid ordered to appear in court

THE Manila Regional Trial Court ordered the appearance of the policemen who conducted the raid on the
detention cell of slain former Albuera, Leyte Mayor Reynaldo Espinosa. 

The order was made for compliance during the hearing of the case of illegal trading and
distribution of illegal drugs  or violation of Republic Act 9165 filed against Espinosa’s son, Kerwin,
It was learned that Judge Silvino Pampilo Jr. of the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch
26 ordered Supt. Marvin Marcos, Chief Insp. Jovy Espenido and members of the Philippine National
Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) to go to his sala at around 8:30 a.m. for
the scheduled pre-trial of Kerwin’s case.   
The said policemen reportedly conducted the raid on the detention cell of the late Mayor

Espinosa at the Leyte District Jail in Baybay City and which resulted in his death.                                                                                                                           The directive is part of the marathon hearings being conducted on the case.   
Earlier on, Judge Pampilo ordered the deletion of the name of Mayor Espinosa in the list of
the accused, following his death.
