Chinese trader found rotting in Manila

October 08, 2018

WITH the use of a bag strap, a 40-year-old Chinese businesswoman was strangled to death in Sampaloc, Manila, the other day.

Ria Chang, of 974 Apable Bldg., Lerma St., Sampaloc, was also hogtied and already bloated when found in early stage of decomposition.

Police said a lesbian is being investigated as possibly behind the killing of the victim.

Prober Det. Ryan Balagtas of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said Chang was found dead at around 10 p.m. at the mezzanine of the said building where she lived.

Some of the tenants in the same building told the police that their attention was drawn by stench coming from the victim’s unit.

They reported the matter to Cipriano Paderes, a barangay kagawad, and when the door was forcibly opened, they found the victim dead.

The bag, whose strap was used to strangle the victim, was empty and so were her drawers.

Police said that the suspect may have been trying to make it appear that the motive was robbery.
