Chinese drug ring member nabbed for 2 kilos of shabu

OPERATIVES of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a Chinese, allegedly a member of a big-time illegal drug syndicate, in a buy-bust operation and confiscated some two kilos of shabu from the suspect, yesterday in Parañaque City.

Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA regional director, identified the suspect as Nilo Sy, alias “Shi Yong Ming,” of Malate, Manila.
Villanueva said the suspect was arrested at 10 p.m. following a buy-bust operation on Macapagal Boulevard near Sollaire Casino Hotel in Parañaque City.
He said the buy bust was earlier set at the parking lot of Harrison Plaza in Manila but Sy change his mind for still unclear reason and set it instead at Macapagal Boulevard.
He added that PDEA agents immediately pounced on the suspect when he handed to a PDEA poseur-buyer agent a kilo of shabu in exchanged for P1 million in marked money.
Villanueva said they also recovered another kilo of shabu and P250,000 drug money from the suspect.
He said the suspect is a member of a big-time drug syndicate operating in Metro Manila.     The suspect, who was brought to PDEA detention cell, was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
