A 15-year-old barker was shot and killed by one of two unidentified suspects while calling for passengers along Rizal Avenue Extension Monday night in Caloocan City.
Justine Mercado, alias “Macky”, of 0449 BMBA Compound, 2nd Avenue, Bgy. 120, succumbed to a bullet wound in the nape while being treated at Caloocan City Medical Center while the suspects fled on board a motorcycle after the killing.
Caloocan Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) head Chief Insp. Enrique Torres said that while the victim was busy calling for passengers along Rizal Avenue Extension in front of Fairmart in Bgy. 71 at around 6:23 p.m., one of the two men on board a motorcycle approached him and treacherously shot him once in the nape.
The victim was rushed by a concerned citizen to the nearest hospital but was declared dead at 9:14 p.m.
A follow-up operation was immediately conducted by police but they failed to identify and arrest the suspects. Chief Insp. Torres said investigators already ruled out illegal
drugs as the motive behind the killing and are now focusing on several angles, including personal grudge and love triangle.
