AN assistant cook filed a complaint against a Makati policeman whom he accused of hitting him with a gun in the head in a restobar on Arellano Street in Malate, Manila, early yesterday morning.
In his complaint before the Manila Police District-General Assignment and Investigation Section (MPD-GAIS), victim Raffy Magcua, of Leon Guinto, Malate, Manila and an assistant cook at the Wilmix Resto Bar located on Arellano Street in Malate, identified the cop as a certain ‘PO1 Rommel’ whom he said is assigned at the Makati police.
The victim told police that at around 3 a.m., his colleagues told him that his friend, Anthonette Lagata, 19, was being harassed by the said cop and needed help.
Since Lagata is his friend, the victim got out of the bar and asked the cop what the problem was.
The victim said that suddenly, the cop drew his gun and pointed it at him, so he ran back inside. The suspect however, pursued him and hit his head with the butt.
Lagata claimed that the cop, whom she said was reeking with liquor, had his hands all over her, which was why she sought help.
It was learned that Chief Insp. Joselito de Ocampo, chief of the MPD-GAIS, is set to summon the said cop for a confrontation with the victim.
