ASG abducts engineer

SUSPECTED members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) abducted an engineer yesterday morning in Jolo,
Sulu.

Joint Task Force Sulu Commander Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana identified the victim as Enrico
Nee, engineer of the local Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
     
Reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo said the victim was taken at 8 a.m. by two armed suspects
from his house in Upper San Raymundo, Jolo, Sulu.
     
The victim was forcibly dragged into a waiting red Tamaraw FX and sped away towards Bgy.
Anuling, Patikul. The vehicle was later found abandoned in a nearby area.
 
Sobejana said government troops immediately established checkpoints in strategic areas in a
bid to find the victim but failed to arrest the abductors.
