Army reservist shot dead

Army reservist working as a VIP security escort was shot dead by his colleague over an argument about their work in Marikina City Sunday night.

Reports reaching Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula identified the victim as Randy Santos, 35, of Tambakan, Pagrai, Antipolo City.

Police are now hunting down the suspect, identified as Jay Jalapadan, also an Army reservist, of  PSS Lacolina Santan St., Fortune, Marikina City.

Chief Insp. Eduardo Cayetano, Marikina Police Criminal Investigation chief, said the incident transpired  at the  house of one Arnold de Torres, 48, married, tricycle driver, of Bgy. Fortune  at 8:10 p.m.

The victim and the suspect, together with a certain Carandang, were having a drinking spree at the said house, when they talked about their work as VIP security escort of a politician, whose was not given by the police, and ended up in a heated altercation.
However, Cayetano said the two were pacified by De Torres and the suspect decided to go home.
Minutes later, the suspect came back  armed with a handgun and shot the victim several times, killing him instantly. He then  fled.
