8,701 take Bar exams at University of Santo Tomas starting today

THE Manila Police District (MPD) has expressed readiness to provide security for the holding of the 2018 Bar examinations at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Sampaloc, Manila beginning today.

It was learned that some 400 policemen will be deployed and led by MPD Director Chief Supt. Rolando Anduyan, to ensure safety for the 8,701 examinees and their relatives and friends who are expected to troop to the said area on four Sundays of the month. This year reportedly has the biggest batch of examinees. The MPD said its ‘Task Force 2018 Bar Ops’ will direct, administer and supervise security and anti- criminality operations, as well as provide emergency assistance when needed as its men have undergone preparedness and Crisis Incident Management Response Procedures to be able to help maintain peace and order in the area.”

At around 7 a.m. yesterday, the Advance Command Post (ACP) and Emergency Lane designated by the MPD have been opened.

Personnel from the Explosive and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) as well as paneling and CCTV monitoring within the UST campus and its immediate vicinities as well as full deployment were slated to begin at 4 a.m. today (Sunday).

The MPD said it is also coordinating with other government agencies to ensure the success of the 2018  Bar exams.
