4 Chinese held for kidnapping compatriot charged

FOUR Chinese nationals who were arrested in a hotel last Saturday morning for kidnapping their compatriot were charged yesterday for kidnapping and slight illegal detention before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.

Wu Ping, 36, Wang Xin Nong, 31, Wie Wang, 34 and Wu Lou, 34, all of Pinpin St., Binondo, Manila, were arrested inside Hotel 101 located along EDSA Extension, Bgy. 76, by elements of Pasay City Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) after a Chinese casino agent sought their assistance after the suspects abducted and detained his friend at the hotel.

Elements of SIDMB led by Chief Insp. Wilfredo Sangel conducted police operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects and rescued their victim, Xiao Jie.

Police said the victim was abducted by the suspects early Friday and was detained and tortured for two days at Room 309 of Hotel 101 and was asked to produce P470,000 in exchange for his release.

Victim’s friend Zhinkun Guo sought police assistance.
