Three men were killed when they reportedly engaged in a shootout with cops who were about to implement a search warrant against a high value target for illegal possesion of firearms yesterday morning in Quezon City.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, said the incident happened at about 5:18 a.m. at No 15, Unit H, Road 1, Bgy. Pag-asa.
Operatives of District Special Operations Unit were about to implement a search warrant for violation of Section 28, RA 10591 or Unlawful Acquisition, or Possession of Firearms issued by Hon. Executive Judge Cecilyn Burgos-Villavert of QC RTC branch 89 against Johnny De Leon (a high value target of Santiago City, Isabela) and other occupants of No 15, Unit H, Road 1, Brgy. Pag-asa when the subject of the search warrant reportedly fired at the approaching policemen.
De Leon was reportedly one of the occupants on the ground floor.
Two other suspects on the second floor of the house traded shots with the cops.
When the smoke of battle cleared, De Leon and his two still unidentified cohorts were dead.
