2 killed in Munti, Parañaque mishaps

TWO killed, including a 14-year-old boy, while another was seriously injured in two separate vehicular accidents involving trucks Thursday in Muntinlupa and Parañaque cities.

Roger Callo, 32, of Rosal St., Katipunan Village, Western Bicutan, Taguig City, succumbed to severe head and body injuries while being rushed to Ospital ng Muntinlupa after the motorcycle he was driving was reportedly hit by Hino truck (CAN-5861) driven by Robert Palaypayon, 42, of Tinambac, Camarines Sur.

Victim’s motorcycle (KM-5325) was traversing along East Service Road at 10:45 p.m. when accidentally hit by Hino truck at Sucat Interchange, Bgy. Sucat.

Due to the impact, the victim was thrown off the motorcycle and badly landed on the pavement.

Callo, who surrendered to the police, will be facing reckless imprudence resulting in homicide before the Muntinlupa City Prosecutor’s Office.

Earlier in Parañaque City, Jessie de Castro, 14, was riding a bicycle with Jerald Feliciano, 13, as his back rider when they were sideswiped by a truck (UWC-677) driven by Florentino Cabalida Jr. at 1 p.m. on Ninoy Aquino Avenue, in front of Airforce 1 in Bgy. San Dionisio.

De Castro died on the spot after being run over by the truck while his back rider sustained head and body injuries and was rushed to Ospital ng Parañaque where he was placed under observation. Cabalida was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injury with damage to property before the Paranaque City Prosecutor’s Office.
