A 56-year-old man died after he was hit by a Philippine National Railway (PNR) train yesterday morning in Muntinlupa City.
Vidal Montecalvo of Wawa Compound, Bgy. Alabang was about to cross the opposite lane when he was sideswiped by a PNR train with body number 917 which was heading towards Alabang at around 10:05 a.m.
Muntinlupa Rescue Team immediately rushed the victim to Ospital ng Muntinlupa where he succumbed to massive head and body injuries.
Police said the PNR office is willing to provide financial assistance to the victim’s family but they must first apply for it.
Over in Valenzuela City, a 49-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident before dawn yesterday in Valenzuela City.
Arlyn Miranda, Eco-Aide and resident of Block 18, Lot 20 Quorum St., Senate Village, Phase 1 Brgy. Congress 173 North Caloocan died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries while the still unidentified driver of a dark-colored car sped away.
Valenzuela police chief Sr. Supt. David Nicolas Poklay said the victim was crossing along MacArthur Highway near the corner of San Francisco St. in Bgy. Karuhatan at around 3:05 a.m. when he was hit by a speeding car, sending him several meters away from his spot.
