2 ‘Akyat-Bahay’ men killed in QC encounter

TWO suspected members of the “Akyat-Bahay Gang” were killed in an encounter with policemen Thursday night in Bgy. Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. said the slain suspects have yet to be identified. One of them was described as about  20 to 25 years old, with “Badboy” tattooed in his upper chest and “Sputnik” tattooed in his right shoulder.

The other slain suspect, about 35-40 years old, had tattooes “Helen Apeng” in the back and “Boy Aquino” in the lower chest.  

A report gathered from Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the QCPD said that at about 11:45 p.m., a certain Ricky Sevilla, said to be a businessman residing in Bgy. Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, sought assistance from PS 4 shortly after he discovered that suspected thieves broke into his computer shop at 36 Dominga St. corner Pablo St., F.B. De Jesus Subd.

Responding policemen caught the suspects about to escape and ordered them to surrender but instead pulled out their handguns and fired at the policemen. A brief shootout ensued that resulted in the death of the suspects.

Recovered from them were a Norinco cal. .45 pistol (SN 617317) with two live ammunition, a Smith and Wesson cal. .357 revolver loaded with two live ammunition, a coin purse containing P320 and two sachets of shabu, a Yamaha RS 110 motorcycle and a computer CPU with monitor and accessories.
