While many celebrities choose to spend their free time indulging in excess, filling in on “Hollywood Squares” and becoming objects of affection for the paparazzi, a few others are spawning entirely new and separate careers after achieving initial fame. Whether it’s clothing lines, cookware or coffeehouses, the celebrities listed here by Inside CRM Editors have hit the entrepreneurial jackpot.

This Danish model possesses beauty and business savvy. Christensen and her floral designer friend, Leif Sigersen opened BUTIK Christensen & Sigersen in New York City’s West Village in 2005. In addition to clothes, BUTIK also has a workshop for the pair to design clothing for the label they launched in 2006 and an area for floral designs.

In particular, Nuala, which is an acronym for “natural, universal, altruistic, limitless and authentic,” fits the bill by donating portions of profits to anti-landmine groups, breast cancer research and UNICEF.
Madonna
Boy, does this woman have staying power! Dozens of hits, several controversies, styles and children later, the Queen of Pop recently made her mark on the fashion world with her clothing line. The nearly 50-year-old star teamed up with low-cost, high-fashion retailer H&M AB to sell her line in their stores in 26 countries.
Jennifer Lopez
The singer and actress’s transformation from fly girl to fashion mogul is an impressive one. She teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger’s Andy to found Sweetface Fashion Company in 2001. The label also makes fragrances, eyeglasses, jewelry, watches and footwear. Lopez now boasts retail boutiques across the U.S. and throughout the world. She also has a teen clothing line.

She’s sold more than 10 million of her leg-slimming ThighMaster device and owns a dozen clothing, jewelry, food and beauty lines. She’s a popular seller on the Home Shopping Network, where her signature Trilliant bracelet is the best-selling jewelry piece to ever gleam and glitter on the show.
Danny DeVito
The vertically challenged comedian opened an Italian restaurant, DeVito South Beach, in Miami. And if it were a BYOB kind of place, he’d also have the liquor for you to bring. When he appeared rather tipsy on The View recently, DeVito claimed that George Clooney had kept him up drinking limoncello the night before. DeVito launched his own line of the lemon-flavored liqueur summer of 2008.
