The Prime of Anne Curtis

Anne Curtis (born Anne Ojales Curtis-Smith on February 17, 1985 in Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia) is a Filipino-Australian actress, model, television host, singer and VJ currently active in the Philippines.

The eldest daughter of Filipina Carmen Ojales and Austrlaian lawyer James Curtis-Smith, Anne, at age 12, had a vacation in the Philippines – a move that would become permanent as she was discovered and have since become a big star in Philippine showbiz. She is now known as “The Philippines Princess of All Media.”

Anne Curtis’s first movie in 1977 was Viva Films’Magic Kingdom where she played Bait as Princesa Dahlia. Her teen years was spent in T.G.I.S (Thank God It’s Sabado) show and a few other teleseryes and programs with GMA Network. In 2004, she transferred to ABS-CBN, rising to showbiz prominence when she played Stephanie in Hiram along with Geoff Eigenman, Heart Evangelista, Kris Aquino, and Dina Bonnevie. After Hiram, she was given the role of Imang, a “kampanerang kuba” – a remake of the movie Kampanerang Kuba played before by Vilma Santos, mother of Luis Manzano, who is her longtime bestfriend. After this teleserye, she was one of the lead roles of Maging Sino Ka Man which was headlined as well by Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, and Sam Milby, her ex boyfriend. Maging Sino Ka Man was followed by Maging Sino Ka Man: Book 2.

Anne Curtis is known to many by the appropriate monicker Dyosa, as she was a Philippine goddess in the Dyosa, another hit teleserye that included co-stars Sam Milby, Luis Manzano and Zanjoe Marudo. She was also the daughter of Ai Ai de las Alas in Ang Cute Ng Ina Mo, and the love interest of Aga Muhlach in When Love Begins, and of  Jericho Rosales in the blockbuster Baler, the film from which her Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress trophy came. She just played the role of beautiful socialite Kara Zalderiaga in the hit 2011 film No Other Woman. Even more recently, she is the 29th Luna Awards Best Supporting Actress – a role which also gave her nominations in the Yahoo! OMG Awards as Hottest Actress, and Best Actress of the Year in the 2011 PMPC Star Awards for Movies.
