The Department of Justice ordered a manhunt for two persons tagged by a witness in the  Vizconde massacre case.

“There are two individuals who are possible suspects that are being traced because they are within the Philippines,” Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said.

She said the two “knew each other and were together on the night of the incident.”

De Lima said authorities are now “intensifying efforts” to locate the duo, who will be invited for interrogation.

She also refused to reveal if any of the two are among the set of suspects led by Hubert Webb who were already acquitted by the Supreme Court last year.

De Lima said they are trying their best to conclude the new probe before June 29, when the celebrated case reaches its 20-year prescription period: “Our endgame really is to know the truth. If this will lead to filing of a new case, it will  just be a necessary consequence,” she said.
