BORACAY ISLAND, Malay, Aklan — Police Supt. Samuel C. Nacion is the new chief of the Boracay Special Tourist Police Office.

He replaced Col. Rolando Vilar who was named deputy director of the Aklan Police Provincial Office.

Nacion, a holder of a master’s degree in local governance, hails from lloilo.

The BSTPO, which used to have 120 members, has only 48 policemen at present.

The Boracay Foundation, Inc. called on Nacion to return the number of policemen to 120 so the island-resort will be properly secured.
