THREE persons, including a barangay chairman and his daughter, died after the van they were riding fell down a 400-meter ravine in Besao, Mountain Province Monday.
Cordillera police director Chief Supt. Villamor Bumanglag, Jr. said Samson Buyagan, chairman of Barangay Tamboan, Besao town, and his daughter Odilyn died instantly.
The third victim identified as Marvin Comayden died while undergoing treatment at the Bontoc General Hospital.
Buyagan’s other children identified as Gracelyn and Bana-an sustained minor injuries.
Reports said Buyagan was driving his Delica van (RAY-930) when the engine stopped while negotiating a high slope in Sitio Pulpuluitan, Barangay Payeo at 9 a.m.
The van rolled backward and fell off the cliff.
