Ex-NAIA chief killed by wife

A DEPRESSED wife went on a shooting rampage on Mother’s Day killing her septuagenarian husband and wounding one of their two sons inside their home in Tustin Rach, Los Angeles, California.

Killed was former Ninoy Aquino International Airport Antonio P. Gana. The couple’s 16-year-old son was injured.

Gana’s wife Annamaria was charged with murder and attempted murder before the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

Reports said Gana shot her husband in the chest and fired twice at their fleeing son hitting him in the arm and torso.

Although wounded, the teener managed to call 911 for help.

The couple’s 9-year-old son grabbed the gun from his mother and threw it outside. The gun was later found on their neighbor’s lawn.

Gana was pronounced dead on arrival at the Western Medical Center in Santa Ana where the teener was also taken for treatment.

Gana was appointed General Manager of the NAIA by former President Joseph Estrada.

Police arrested Annamaria and took her to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries believed sustained during the attack. If convicted, she will face 82-years to life imprisonment. A $1 million bail was set for her temporary liberty.

Friends of the family were saddened by the incident. They said Gana was diagnosed with breast cancer.
