AFTER a snub by Hollywood’s Terminator California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of Manila, former United States Vice President Al Gore is making good his promise to visit Manila this year for climate change talks.

SM Shopping Center Management Corporation President Annie Garcia announced this, noting that Gore’s talk will be on April 30 this year when he will focus on climate change in Asia.

“We take pride in announcing that on April 30 this year, SM Prime Holdings Inc. will bring in Mr. Gore to speak on his updated version of “An Inconvenient Truth” so we hope many of you can join us then,” Garcia said at the SM North Edsa during opening of the one-day nationwide SM Green Film Festival.

“An Inconvenient Truth” is the 2006 Academy Award-winning documentary covering Mr. Gore’s campaign to inform people about global warming and climate change this produces.

Garcia said Mr. Gore will speak at SMEX Convention Center next to SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Climate change is one of the advocacies of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo even as she created the Climate Change Commission and championed the cause of Asian nations at the Climate Change summit last year in Copenhagen.

“We hope to have the President there as our very special guest,” she noted.      Efren Montano
