ANTIPOLO City-It was a show of force for Lakas-Kampi-CMD. The administration party chose Antipolo City as the venue for its first proclamation rally because it is situated in the east side where sun rises. “Pinili namin ang mataas na lugar, because we are on top and we have the best team,” Teodoro said. Congressmen who joined Teodoro included Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Pampanga Reps. Juan Miguel Arroyo and Aurelio Gonzales, Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija Rep. Rudy Antonino, Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo, Bulacan Rep. Lorna Silverio, Deputy Speaker Amelita Villarosa, Sorsogon Rep. Jose Solis, Quirino Rep. Junie Cua, Quezon City Rep. Matias Defensor, Manila Rep. Theresa Bonoan-David, Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo, Capiz Fredenil Castro and Siquijor Rep. Orlando Fua. Buluan Vice Mayor Esmael Mangudadatu, Maguindanao gubernatorial candidate, was also present. LWUA Chairman Prospero Pichay, the campaign manager of the senatorial team, introduced the senatorial bets — senators Ramon Revilla and Lito Lapid, former Justice Secretary Silvestre Bello, Vice Mayor Ramon Guico, Atty. Raul Lambino and broadcaster Rey Langit. At least 10,000 residents of Antipolo and nearby cities attended the Rally at the Ynares gym. Confident of victory, the six senatorial candidates of Lakas-Kampi-CMD officially started their campaign yesterday with a motorcade from Manila to Antipolo City for the administration party’s grand proclamation rally. Lakas-Kampi-CMD Deputy Secretary Rey Roquero presented to the media the administartion’s six candidates: Senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Manuel “Lito” Lapid, former Justice Secretary Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III, lawyer Raul Lambino, Binalonan Mayor Ramon Guico and broadcaster Rey Langit. According to Roquero, the administration senatorial line up is “lean” but winnable because of the candidates’ proven track record in public service. “Our candidates have the experience, integrity, leadership and vision to do a lot more for our country,” Roquero said. During the press conference, the senatorial candidates said that they are not bothered by the latest surveys which showed them with low ratings. Only Revilla and Lapid are included in the Magic 12, based on the recent surveys. Bello has expressed confidence that with the campaign sorties, people will get to know the candidates of Lakas-Kampi-CMD. |
