ALEX Nuyles highlighted a 21-point performance with three triples in the third quarter as Freego Jeans coasted to a 72-54 victory over Pharex yesterday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the San Juan gym.
It was the second straight win by Freego. Pharex, meantime, closed out with 2-4 (win-loss) record and will face the No. 3 seed in Group B in the knockout playoffs.
Roider Cabrera scored 15 points, Lester Alvarez added 12 while Julius Colina and Eric Camson combined for 23 rebounds for Freego Jeans, which shot 52 percent (16 of 32) from the field in the second half.
Edwin Asoro scored 12 to show the way for Pharex, which shot a woeful 32 percent (21 of 64) from the field. To make it worse, the Bidang Generix committed 21 turnovers that netted for Freego Jeans 19 points.
Freeego Jeans had the game’s biggest lead at 59-41 on a basket by Cabrera with 6:22 to go.
