THERE is a vacancy in the Cabinet.
President Benigno C. Aquino III thumbed down replacing any member of his official family.
However, he announced that his defeated running mate in the last elections, former Sen. Mar Roxas, will be his de facto presidential chief of staff.
Aquino said that Roxas will hold a Cabinet post although Executive Secretary Paquito Jojo Ochoa Jr. will stay as Little President.
The President said that Roxas will represent him before Palace callers whom he could not accommodate for lack of time.
Roxas would also coordinate efforts of government officials in policy making activities, the President said.
In fact, the President has expressed full confidence in his Cabinet.
“I am empowered to re-organize the Executive branch to a large degree at any given time. Tinatanong ako kung may Cabinet revamp kung sino ang papalitan ko, sabi ko, I’m happy with the Cabinet… so why should there be a revamp,” Aquino said.
