THREE unidentified men held up ten commuters of passenger bus while it was cruising along Taft Avenue in Malate, Manila early morning yesterday.

Investigation by the Manila Police District (MPD) said the incident took place at around 5 a.m. The HM Transport bus with the Lawton-Alabang route and plate number TYV-303 was cruising along Taft Avenue when the holdup occurred as the bus reached the corner of J. Nakpil Street.

Bus driver Rizalino Carumba said the suspects boarded the Alabang-bound bus and posed as passengers and then declared a holdup while one of them pointed a gun at Carumba.

The suspects, described as between 40 and 45 years old, were all armed and took the passengers’ money, cellphone, jewelry and other valuables.

The passengers, who were mostly students and employees who were on their way to work or school, had no choice but to give in to the demands after the suspects threatened to blow up the bus with the use of a grenade.
